Anees Ghanima is a writer and programmer from Gaza, Palestine. He writes prose and poetry in English and Arabic. His first poetry collection Funeral of an Illusionist won the Young Writer Award from the Qattan Foundation. His writing has appeared in literary magazines and online publications, as well as several international anthologies published during the war on Gaza. These include Palestine is Everywhere, edited by Skye Arundhati Thomas; Letters from Gaza, edited by Mohamed Al-Zaqzouq and Mahmoud El-Shaer; and Gaza: Poemas Contra el Genocidio. He is currently working on a bilingual literary project and developing his personal website into an independent publishing platform from Gaza.
