Takatoat aims to contribute to building the local and regional feminist movement capable of confronting systems of discrimination, exclusion, and oppression by producing and disseminating feminist knowledge in Arabic that is rooted in local experiences and contexts. It seeks to reach a diverse audience, including women and girls in Jordan and across the Arab region, as well as feminist and civil society activists and professionals, focusing on expanding access to groups that are not reached by feminist knowledge in its traditional forms.

Editorially, Takatoat focuses on producing critical and intersectional feminist content that connects lived experience and knowledge, addressing issues such as gender-based violence, labor, the body, and economic and social rights through articles, knowledge publications, and visual digital content. It also seeks to develop alternative forms of storytelling that move away from elitism and bring knowledge closer to everyday life. Its aim is to strengthen women’s presence as producers of knowledge, contribute to changing dominant narratives around women’s issues, and support their participation in public life and feminist activism. The platform also works to create safe spaces for expression and exchange, and to build local and regional networks of solidarity that support feminist movements and expand their capacity for collective organization and impact.
