Africa Voices is an African media platform published primarily in Arabic, with partial translation into English, built around storytelling supported by data journalism. It aims to empower African journalists to express themselves and address issues affecting their communities, with a focus on migration, climate change, and gender equality, in addition to rights and freedoms across the continent. Its audience is not limited to a particular age group, but spans different generations across African countries, particularly Arabic-speaking ones.

The platform’s work sheds light on issues that primarily affect the African continent, especially climate change and its consequences, as well as gender equality and the lack of it in many communities. More broadly, the platform seeks to empower journalists from across the continent to tell the stories of their own realities through independent and in-depth narrative tools, contributing to greater diversity in sources of knowledge and a more balanced representation of African issues. Through this approach, the role of Africa Voices extends beyond coverage to stimulate public debate, amplify marginalized voices, and contribute to a fairer and more comprehensive understanding of social issues. Historically, Africa has largely been written about by journalists from outside the continent. Africa Voices therefore seeks to create space for voices from Africa itself, enabling them to use storytelling to express their social, political, and cultural realities.
