Garabet Kazanjian is an assistant professor at the American University of Armenia and lead aquatic researcher at the AUA Acopian Center for the Environment. He holds an MSc in marine biology from Beirut, and a PhD in Limnology from Humboldt University of Berlin. Garabet serves as co-chair of the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) Working Group on Aquatic Citizen Science and is the principal investigator of the Mission Ocean OTTERS project, which aims to scale up citizen science across the water domain. He is also the work package leader for impact maximization and capacity development in the Horizon Europe projects CS-MACH1 (Establishing the Marine Citizen Science Data Network) and ILIAD: Digital Twins of the Ocean.
