Hamdallah Bearat

Dr. Hamdallah Bearat is a Palestinian chemist, mineralogist, materials scientist and archaeometrist whose work focuses on material culture and its preservation, spanning pigments, metals, clays, ceramics, minerals and glass. Born in Kafr Malik in 1954, he earned a BA from Birzeit University, an MA and PhD in ancient ceramics (France), a Privat Docent in archaeometry/mineralogy (Switzerland) and a second PhD in materials science and engineering (MSE) from Arizona State University, where he also taught archaeometry. Since his return to Palestine in 2014, he has taught MSE at An-Najah University and contributed extensively to research on cultural heritage, publishing over 60 papers. In 2023, he ranked 85th among Palestinian scientists.
