Hanin Theater Troupe was founded in 2016 in the city of Suwayda, Syria, by Firas Hatem and Hanin al-Baainy. It introduced the art of clowning to Syria in 2021, becoming the first group of its kind in the country. To date, it has produced seven clowning performances and delivered more than 100 shows to over 20,000 people.

Since 2021, the troupe has produced more than 10 theatrical performances for both children and adults. In 2022, it established its own Kartoon Theater venue in Suwayda, with a capacity of 100 people, and in 2024, it launched the first stand-up comedy group in the city. Since 2023, it has also run Al-Tawaam Shams Tareeq al-Saada (The Shams Twins-The Path to Happiness) course for children, a theater program encompassing multiple art forms.

Hanin Theater Troupe has been active in community arts training for non-specialists since 2019, and in 2025 launched the Kartoon cultural and arts forum in Suwayda.
