Yasmine Hafez

Yasmine Hafez is a researcher in water and environmental policy, specializing in hydro-geopolitics, transboundary resource management and environmental justice. Her work combines political, ethnographic and field research, with extensive experience in the Nile Delta and the lakes of East Africa. Her work focuses on documenting relationships between local communities and aquatic environments, offering critical approaches that connect local knowledge with political analysis. She regularly publishes in research journals and platforms on environmental justice, water policy, and ecological transformations. Yasmine is a research fellow at CEDEJ and the Water Diplomacy Center in Jordan, and is working with organizations including the Wellcome Collection, the Natural Resource Governance Institute and the Tanmo network.
