Kimiā is an experimental film, photography and media art collective based in Casablanca, Morocco. Rooted in handmade approaches to image-making and participatory media practices, the collective explores analog and digital media as tools for radical imagination and collective storytelling.
The collective’s artistic projects investigate collective memory, ecology and urban transformations, often combining film, photography, experimental and printed media with socially engaged and participatory methods. It also develops educational programs and workshops that provide tools, methods and spaces for creative experimentation and playful exploration. It aims to empower communities through artistic engagement, supporting creative expression, experimentation and co-creation that reflect both collective and personal experiences.
