Sarra Ryma is a queer Algerian filmmaker based in Paris. Her work is dedicated to making the invisible visible and relentlessly questioning it. Passionate about the themes of intersectionality, migration, love, vulnerability, the restlessness of youth and Arab melancholy, her visual landscapes are colorful, raw, tender, and subversive in the spirit of John Waters, Martin Parr and Albert Camus. She is currently working on her first feature, set in her hometown of Algiers.
