Osame Anwer is an independent artist, filmmaker and activist. He studied at the Directing Fiction program at FAMU Film School in Prague and is an alumnus of the Locarno Pro Academy. His practice is focused on short films that take up social drama, notably Homeward (2019) and The Dead Can Talk (2021). Osame is also the founder of Rengen Film Collective and the Newroz Cinema Project. Previously, he worked as an executive officer and artistic assistant at the Duhok International Film Festival.
