Youssef Chebbi is a Tunisian director. After studying art, he directed two short films, Vers le nord (2010) and The Depths (2012), which were shown at international festivals. In 2012, he co-directed the documentary Babylon, which won the Jury Prize at FIDMarseille and was shown at MoMA. Ashkal: The Tunisian Investigation, his first feature film, screened at the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes in 2022. It won a Special Jury Mention at FIFF Namur and the Étalon d'or de Yennenga at the FESPACO 2023.
