Mahmoud Ibrahim is a 24-year-old filmmaker from Kafr al-Dawwar, Egypt. In 2023, he was part of the first graduating class from the Alexandria Higher Institute of Cinema. His debut short film, The Last Day (2025), screened at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival’s Forum Expanded and won Best Student Documentary at the Manassat Film Festival. Mahmoud explores hybrid cinematic forms that merge fiction and documentary, focusing on the relationship between individuals and their urban landscapes, especially where personal and collective memory intersect. He co-founded Handycam Films, an indie company committed to new artistic approaches and alternative production models.
