Nomade 08

Tunisia
Nomade 08 is a Tunisian non-governmental organization established in November 2012, emerging from the activism around the post-Gafsa mining basin revolt in 2008. Driven by a commitment to social justice and sustainable development, the NGO’s core mission is to empower communities through knowledge sharing and by defending economic, social, cultural and environmental rights. It actively works to develop and propose alternatives, particularly by championing models based on the social and solidarity economy and drawing from its own cooperative experiences. A significant focus of its advocacy is on the fundamental right to access water, alongside broader efforts to secure diverse economic, social and environmental rights. Nomade 08 believes in empowering communities by providing them with the tools and understanding necessary to advocate for their rights and shape their own futures.
