Tala Shams Eddin is an architect who is interested in exploring ways to preserve tangible and intangible heritage. She explores the role of crises in the emergence of cities and the alternative, non-central narratives that result from them. She also seeks to explore the intersection between architecture, sound, and the arts.
Tala has worked as a research assistant with IW-lab and the Observatory of Local Urban and Architectural Heritage of Damascus. A grant recipient of Ettijahat - Independent Culture Foundation (2021) for "Spatial Sounds: A Study of the Auditory Character of Damascus” research, Tala holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Damascus University (2020) and is a graduate from Sulhi Al-Wadi Institute of Music (2013).
