Kifah Zaini is a Syrian playwright and theater director based in Damascus. He holds a bachelor’s degree in theater studies from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and another in media from Damascus University. With over 12 years of experience, Kifah is the author of the theatrical trilogy Retirees (2021). He regularly publishes essays and studies on culture and theatre criticism platforms. His work seeks to challenge prevailing cultural stereotypes and pose questions rooted in realities, maintaining a constant pursuit of authenticity and experimentation in theatrical form and style. He wrote and directed Barada (2023) and worked as an acting coach and dramaturge for Waiting for Bojangles in Beirut (2024).
