Mahmoud Hussein began playing the simsimiyya in the Maadiya project between 2014 and 2015. He studied the qanun at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music and continues his education through independent online studies. His goal is to bring the simsimiyya to new generations and modern ears, developing its traditional sound in a contemporary form.
