Mona Hilaly is a multi-instrumentalist musician and researcher of Moroccan origin. Growing up in a cultural environment shaped by her Moroccan diaspora father and Franco-Spanish mother from Algeria, she learned to move between diverse cultural worlds. Nonetheless, the Mediterranean was a constant.

Mona pursued studies of European medieval music during her master's degree in musicology and has performed with groups working in Occitan, Turkish and Arabic traditions. Now based in Morocco, she continues to develop her music and research while reconnecting with her roots.
