Mahmoud Alhaj

Mahmoud Alhaj is an artist and filmmaker born in Gaza in 1990 who works across photography, video, and digital art. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and has taught art at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society since 2017. In 2024, he joined a residency at the Ecole Superieure d'Art D'avignon. His work has been exhibited in Palestine, Europe, and the US, with recent solo shows in Ramallah, Barcelona and Gaza. His film The Right to See (2021) was shown at festivals in Marseille and Cairo. He has participated in programs at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Reina Sofía and MACBA, and held residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts, the Royal Spanish Academy and the Royal Academy in The Hague. Some of his work is included in the Birzeit University Museum collection.
