Aymen Al-Ameri is an Iraqi photographer, filmmaker, and environmental activist. Born in 1995 in Baghdad, his career in visual storytelling began at the age of eight, during the 2003 American invasion, when he first picked up his father's camera to document life around him. Since then, he has developed a body of work that explores the social, cultural and environmental transformations shaping contemporary Iraq. Aymen’s artistic and journalistic practice spans photography, documentary cinema and editorial direction. He is the founder of Henna Magazine, a bilingual cultural platform celebrating Iraqi art and heritage, and the curator and founder of Baghdad Photo Week, Iraq’s first international photography fair.
