Wafa Tabboubi

Wafa Tabboubi is a Tunisian theater educator, actor, writer and director. As an actor, she has worked with several directors, including Fathi Akkari in Éliminatoire (2004), Fadel al-Jaibi in Fifty (2006) and Al-Saad Bin Abdallah in Photocopy (2004). She wrote and directed The Widows, which earned her the Best Director Award at the Carthage Theater Days (JTC) in 2017 and the Bronze Award at the International Festival of Liberal Theater in Jordan in 2018.

In 2021, Wafa wrote and directed The Last Time, which won Best Work at the Carthage Theater Days (2022) and Best Director and Best Script at the Baghdad International Theater Festival (2022). That same year, the play won Best Actor and Best Actress at the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater, with the production nominated across all festival categories.

Wafa has also taught and trained in acting with many institutions, including the Cultural Center of Tunis, the Theatre and Scenic Arts Pole at the City of Culture and Le Rio theater and cinema.
