Karima Ahdad is a Moroccan novelist and writer who lives in Istanbul. She has worked in journalism and digital content production since 2014. She is the author of three novels: Cactus Girls (Éditions Le Fennec, 2018), A Turnish Dream (Arab Cultural Center, 2021) and The Other Woman (Almutawassit, 2024). In 2015, she received the Moroccan Writers’ Union Award for Young Writers in the Short Story category, and her novel Cactus Girls won the Mohamed Zafzaf Prize for the Arabic Novel in 2020. Her short story “A Slender Thorn Digs into My Foot” won first prize in the 2024 ArabLit Story Prize. Her work has been translated into English, French, Spanish and Slovenian.
