Muazz Abuelgasim is a Sudanese writer born in 1996. He earned a diploma in information technology from Sudan University of Science and Technology in 2017. His publications include the short story collection Chants of the Seashell (Tarateel Hamelat al-Asdaf, Rafiki, South Sudan, 2022) and the novel The Witch of the Lake (Saherat al-Buhaira, Willows House, South Sudan, 2024). He received the Stories on Air Award from Al-Arabi magazine in 2018 for his short story Azeez, and the Mohamed Saeed Nawed Appreciation Award in 2021 for his short story Al-raqs maa al-dhelal (Dancing with shadows).
