Oussama Becissa

Oussama Bacissa was raised in a family that is passionate about music. His father introduced him to tajweed, while his mother, a pianist and a singer, shaped his musical universe. Oussama was 17 during the Dark Decade, a time when Algeria was plunged into a violent civil war. As an act of creative resistance, he created the band Amnesty, the first death metal band in the city of Oran. In 2010, he produced Knibla, a mix of folk music, poetry and street theater. Between 2011 and 2016, he collaborated on the experimental jazz project Goya with the actor and stary of Algerian theater Rihab Alloula. Oussama is a self-taught musician who has developed his own oud technique. His musical journey brought him in 2017 to found the Astral Vibes Conspiracy Collective and record the album Transmigration.
