Alaa Dajani

Alaa Dajani is a filmmaker with a passion for social documentaries. He holds a BA in economics from the American University in Cairo and an MFA in documentary filmmaking from Stanford University. He is the founder of Noumenon Media, a platform dedicated to creating impactful social documentaries. His short documentary In Circles (2009) was shortlisted for a student award at Stanford. His follow up documentary The Art of Jihad (2010) made a US festival tour. More recently Alaa has contributed to a biopic of Egyptian physicist Ali Moustafa Mosharafa in addition to working as a co-editor on the feature-length documentary Captains of Za’atari (2010). In addition to his personal work as a filmmaker, he has also collaborated with UNDP, Oxfam, and The American University in Cairo.
