Weaam Mokhtar

Weaam Mokhtar is an author, researcher and social activist, concerned with gender and sexuality issues. She has extensive experience in the fields of human rights and civil society as well as in feminist issues. She began her journey with writing early and specialized in writing articles and studies examining love and social and sexual relationships in the context of the major social changes that accompanied the Arab revolts. These writings were published on Egyptian, regional and international platforms in both English and Arabic. We’am studied economics and political science with a specialization in public administration at Cairo University, then completed an MA in gender studies at SOAS.
