Sara Younes is a documentary photographer and visual storyteller with a bachelors degree in Media Studies. She has worked as a freelance photojournalist for various independent media outlets in Egypt since 2014. Her work explores representations of the body, public spaces and photography norms, experimenting with visual language.

Sara’s photos have been presented at various exhibitions in the region, including The Arab Street, Vol. II in 2019  with Gulf Photo Plus, Medrar’s Roznama 9 in 2023 and the Africa Foto Fair in 2024.

In 2021, she was awarded the Encouragement Award in photojournalism by the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate. Sara was also one of the three finalists for the 2024 Premi Mediterrani Albert Camus Incipiens Award.
