Rolly Dib

Lebanon
Rolly Dib is a dancer and filmmaker from Lebanon. After studying for over a decade with Lebanese and Egyptian dancers, Rolly has crafted a practice that blends dance and film. Her creative work experiments with baladi dance, which she also teaches, through deconstruction and play. Rolly’s work addresses colonial issues related to power and effects of the societal gaze through a focus on the female body, as she reimagines the future of the dance form through its relationship to music and socio-political influences.
