Diana El Jeiroudi is a Syrian-German filmmaker, screenwriter and producer whose work blends insight into socio-political realities with personal narratives. Her films include The Pot (2005), A Woman from Damascus (2007), Morning Fears, Night Chants (2012) and Republic of Silence (2021), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and won the Goethe-Institut’s Documentary Film Prize at DOK Leipzig and received an honorable mention. As a producer, she has worked on several documentaries including Return to Homs (2013), Silvered Water (2014) and 5 Seasons of Revolution (2023), all of which received international recognition. Diana has also served as a mentor in various international film labs and workshops, such as Berlinale Talents Doc Station, Ex-Oriente at DOK Leipzig and Docs by the Sea (DBTS). She is a co-founder of DOX BOX, a Berlin-based nonprofit that provides support and training for documentary filmmakers in Europe and the Arab-African region, and helped launch the Documentary Convention, an annual convening of documentary professionals, artists and decision-makers from the region and around the world. Diana is also the CEO of No Nation Films and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the International Documentary Association (IDA), the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE) and the Deutsche Filmakademie.
