Widad Mjama’s "Aita Mon Amour" is an album that aims to rescue the folk music of the same name from oblivion and pay homage to neglected practitioners. Aita, a Moroccan word meaning a cry, call or lament, is traditional peasant music sung mostly by women, feminists before the hour, describing the daily life, problems and hindrances of communities.
