A queer performance that combines Baladi dance and Arabic poetry/prose, “Night Prayer” explores how sadness, loss and melancholy are fundamental and positive values of queerness. Growing up as queer individuals in different communities in Lebanon, our childhoods and coming of age are rife with experiences of violence, loss and resilience. How do we understand these experiences and reconcile with them?
