Wekalet Behna aims at building a contemporary art framework that stimulates critical thinking and rethinking of the constant and dominant contemporary artistic and institutional practices.

Founded in 2014 in Alexandria, Wekalet Behna centers on visual and contemporary arts as well as alternative education. The space includes three cinema halls, an open public library, a showroom and a film archive.

Wekalet Behna vise à construire un cadre d’art contemporain qui stimule la pensée critique et la remise en question des pratiques artistiques et institutionnelles contemporaines constantes et dominantes.

Fondé en 2014 à Alexandrie, Wekalet Behna se concentre sur les arts visuels et contemporains ainsi que sur l’éducation alternative. L’espace comprend trois salles de cinéma, une bibliothèque publique ouverte, une salle d’exposition et des archives cinématographiques.
