Cinema - 2023
After completing filmmaking and psychology studies in Beirut, Tania El Khoury moved to Paris in 2002 where she finished her master’s degree in cinema. She then joined the independent production company Moby Dick Films, with which she worked as a legal and financial manager until 2019. In 2017, she founded the production company Khamsin Films in Beirut with the aim of developing projects in the Arab region. In 2020, she founded the Paris-based production company, Les Films de l'Altaï with the aim of producing international projects. She produced Ghassan Salhab’s latest feature fiction, The River (2021), which had its world premier in the International Competition in Locarno International Film Festival, Sonia Ben Slama’s newest feature documentary Machtat (2023), which premiered at the International competition Visions du Réel, ACID Cannes, and Hussen Ibraheem’s short film Manity for which she received the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity x AFAC in 2022.
