Fadi El Abdallah is a writer, a lawyer, a poet and a music critic who lives and works in the Netherlands. His articles vary between law, music, film, literary criticism and contemporary art. He has developed a particular interest in traditional Arabic music and its connection to the social and economic systems that surround it. El Abdallah is a guest editor at the online music publication Ma3azef. He supervised the compilation works included in the book L’Orient Sonore (2020) that was released by MUCEM museum (Musée des Civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée, Marseille) in collaboration with the AMAR foundation (Arab Music Archiving & Research), and he participated in managing the discussions around the book.
El Abdallah has published five collections of poems and a book Essential Fragility – Encounters with Lebanese Writing and will soon release a book compiling his music criticism. He also has participated in a number of contemporary art exhibitions.
