Nidhal Chamekh is an artist whose work dissects the constitutional moments that make up contemporary identity. Born in 1985, he lives and has studied in Paris and Tunis. Across ​​drawing, installation, photography, video, Chamekh’s works use an experimental visual language to allow for interpretations of time at the intersection of a biographical microcosm and a political framework, of an event and an archive, of a personal experience and a history. His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennial, the Aïchi Triennale, the Yinchuan Biennial, the Dakar Biennial and has been shown in Tunis at Politics Collective exhibitions, in Paris at the Institut du Monde Arabe and the Drawing Now Art Fair, in Italy at the FM Centre for Contemporary Art, in London at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair and the Drawing Room, and in at other locations including Art Basel and the Hood Museum of Art.
