Masoud Amrallah Al Ali is an Emirati writer, filmmaker, critic and art director from Sharjah. A media graduate from the UAE University, he has directed several shorts and documentaries including Al-Rumram (1994), The Rainbow Room – 100 Years of Cinema (1996) and Horizontals and Ornament in the Baroque Age (1999). He also directed the short documentary The Mountain Keepers (2005).
Al Ali has played a key role in several regional and international film festivals. He served as the director of the Gulf Film Festival in 2008 and as artistic director for the Dubai International Film Festival from 2006 to 2017. He also served as jury member in several regional and international film festivals, including the 2007 Singapore International Film Festival, the 2003 Biennale Des Cinémas Arabes, the 2003 Rodos Ecofilms International Films & Visual Arts Festival, the 2003 Tehran International Short Film Festival and the 2003 edition of Docudays – Beirut International Documentary Festival. 
Ali has also published a poetry collection titled Hymns of the Seagull.
