Hilal Chouman holds a bachelor degree in communications and electronics engineering from Beirut Arab University (2005), and an MSc in aerospace communication systems and satellite communications from Telecom University in Paris (2007). He published four novels in Arabic: “Stories of Sleep” (2008), “Napolitana”(2010), “Limbo Beirut” (2012), and “Once Upon a Time, Tomorrow” (2016). His novel “Limbo Beirut” was translated into English by Anna Ziajka Stanton, and was selected for two shortlists of the Saif Ghobash–Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation and the PEN Translation Prize. He publishes various translations and literary texts on occasion on Arab websites, and he is currently working on publishing his fifth novel. He lives in Toronto, Canada, where he works on managing software products used in AI and Machine Learning.
