A Tunisian actress and playwright. Born in 1952, she co-founded the first private theatre company in Tunisia, the New Theatre, together with her husband Fadhel Jaibi. In 1993, they collaborated together with theatre producer Habib Belhadi to found the Familia Production Company. Baccar has become a guardian of liberty and an icon for enlightened Tunisians.
