Hassan Khan is an artist, musician and writer who lives and works in Cairo, Egypt. Khan has participated in numerous Biennials including the Montreal Biennale (2016); the Sharjah Biennale (2015); The New Museum Triennial (2012); documenta 13 (Kassel, 2012) as well as in collective shows such as Stories of Almost Everyone, Hammer Museum (Los Angeles, 2018); Ouvert la Nuit, Villa Medici (Rome, 2017); But a Storm Is Blowing from Paradise, the Guggenheim Museum (New York, 2016); Moving Images, M+ (Hong Kong, 2015); and Unrest of Form - Imagining the Political Subject, Secession (Vienna, 2013). 
His forthcoming solo exhibition The Keys to the Kingdom opens in October at the Reina Sofia, Madrid. Other recent solo exhibitions were showcased at Galerie Chantal Crousel (Paris, 2019); Beirut Art Center (Beirut, 2016); the Museum für Moderne Kunst (Frankfurt, 2015) and Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (Cairo, 2014).  Khan is the recipient of the 2017 Venice Biennale Silver Lion. He was the President of the 2011 Venice Biennale Jury and is Professor of Fine Arts at the Stäedelschule in Frankfurt. His most recent publication An Anthology of Published and Unpublished Writings is published by Stäedelschule and Koenig Books and his album - SUPERSTRUCTURE EP was released earlier this year by The Vinyl Factory.
