One morning, a strange package from Beirut arrives in Maia's well-organized life in Canada. Inside it are the numerous notebooks, tapes and photos that Maia had sent to her best friend Carine, between 1982 and 1988 when she was a teenager. Carine was forced to leave Lebanon escaping the civil war. Shocked by the recent death of Carine, Maia decides not to open this Pandora’s Box. But her 31-year-old daughter, Alex, deeply fascinated by all that, starts to secretly read the notebooks and listen to the tapes. Taking advantage of the extraordinary snowstorm that isolates the whole neighborhood, she becomes entangled in her mother's teenage years, bringing back some well-kept secrets.
