Performing Arts in Horsh Beirut Festival

This project is a collaboration between Lebanese, Arab and French artists and performers who are working together to organize a series of street performances for the Horsh Beirut Festival 2014. Performances will be created specifically for this particular event, which will be taking place at the largest of Beirut’s public green spaces and which is usually closed off to the public. Performances will also be featured at the Seafront Corniche and other public gardens of Beirut.
My story, your story, our story – making up a story at the public library
A cooperative project that links together ten public libraries in Lebanon with the aim of jointly writing two stories while exploring different ways of expression. The project makes the point about how public libraries play an essential role in encouraging people to express themselves freely and peacefully, while offering a space for local gatherings and experiencing shared cultural heritage.

Cultural Revitalization of Public Libraries is an ASSABIL project to revitalize public libraries by conducting workshops, cultural activities and events for local communities, including poetry evenings, introductions to classical Arabic music, literature readings and training sessions for librarians.
