D-CAF offers a diverse program of independent cultural productions, workshops and discussions each year. In 2014, D-CAF ran the first Arab Arts Focus. In 2016, D-CAF would like to run a 2nd focus, including a stronger program of established and emerging Arab artists from across disciplines and hosting over 50 international programmers. The focus will include performances in theatre, dance and music, 6 new solo visual arts exhibition, an international forum on art production and distribution, a selection of short and art films, a pitch session for new projects and a series of networking events. For this year’s focus; D-CAF is determined to showcase Syrian contemporary works as a part of its program.

The festival seeks to encourage local and regional artists and producers by giving them the opportunity to look into some of the best works of modern art. The festival has also become a platform for international producers to discover the works of Arab artists; especially that it focuses on attracting these international visits.

D-CAF will be Egypt’s first-ever international, multi-disciplinary arts festival that will include local, regional & international music, theatre, dance, visual arts & film by cutting-edge artists from Egypt, the Arab world and beyond. In addition to featuring established downtown cultural spaces and theatres in Cairo, D-CAF will break new ground by using non-traditional spaces such as historical buildings, storefronts, alleyways and rooftops as sites for performances, events and installations, engaging audiences and performers with the city in a new way.
