The Danish Institute in Damascus calls on all young men and young men and women aged 30 and younger to participate in the "Poetry and Short Story Book Competition for Arab Youth”. The competition aims to give young people an opportunity to express and interact with the current situation in the Arab world in a literary way.
The Institute welcomes poetic and narrative texts written in the Arabic language and not exceed twenty pages in length. It is also required that the text engage in a creative way with the current situation in the country of the writer.
A selection of the best 12 to 20 texts will be published in a bilingual Arabic and English anthology. The top three winners will also be invited to participate in the International Literary Festival to be held in May / May 2012 in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.
