The Guardian visits “Tarzan” and “Arab”

22 Aug, 2011

In her article about the two Palestinian artists Ahmad and Mohamed Abou Nasser, Harriet Sherwood of the Guardian discovers ingenuity and talent that defies all odds. Under their pseudonyms, ‘Tarzan’ and ‘Arab’, these identical twin artists have succeeded in creating an award-winning short movie, “undeterred by the lack of training, equipment, funding, a place to show their work or a receptive audience,” writes Sherwood.

The Movie “Colorful Journey” discusses the political and social effects of the factional infighting within the Gaza strip through scenes of fighting between the two brothers,“ their identical appearances reinforcing their message that Gazan brothers need to unite to face their common enemy,” writes Sherwood.

The review also discusses their ‘remarkable’ cinema posters and sketches, shedding light on the two brother’s dreams and the obstacles they face as artists in Gaza.
