"Her film “Like Twenty Impossibles” (2003) was the first Palestinian short film to be an official selection of the Cannes International Film Festival. It won more than 15 awards at various international festivals, including Best Film at the Palm Springs Short Film Festival and Chicago International Film Festival." writes Badar I.Salem from Variety Arabia introducing the palestinian director and poet, and AFAC's 2009 grantee, Anne-Marie Jacir.

 

The "palestinia treasure" as called by Salem described the various troubles the Israeli Authorities caused to her while shooting her film "Salt of this Sea" which was screened at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and was chosen as Palestine's official entry to the Academy awards. Jacir also talked about the production of her new film "when I saw you" which was supported by AFAC.
