Four Arab films have been selected this year for the “Cinema in Motion Program” of the 59th San Sebastian Film Festival which will run between the 16th and 24th of September. The program aims to highlight films in their post-production stage, and is open to filmmakers from the Maghreb, Portuguese-speaking African countries and developing Arab countries.
Among the selected films, two are made by AFAC’s grantees: “When I Saw You” by Annemarie Jacir (Jordan/Palestine), and “The Lebanese Rocket Society” by Khalil Joreige and Joanna Hadjithomas (France/Lebanon). The other two are “Confessions and Struggle” by the Lebanese director Eliane Raheb and “The Last Friday” by the Jordanian Yahya Abdallah. The films will be screened on the 19th of September.
