The Moroccan ‘Shoof’ (or Look) Association, in partnership with the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan, invites Arab artists in the field of graphic novels and illustration to apply for an art residency program called “Draw Me the Arab Spring” launched as part of the 7th International Festival of Comic Strips. The art residency is funded by a 2011 grant from AFAC awarded under the ‘RTR’ ‘Research/ Training/Regional Events’ category of AFAC’s general call. Participants are invited to draw short stories that reflect their individual perspectives on the revolutions that have swept the Arab world. Travel, room and board are covered for the week-long duration of the art residency program (20th-27th May 2012).
To participate, send a file containing a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae and examples of previous work in Storyboard P (5 video tapes at least), to the following mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com before March 30th, 2012.
