Still From Fawzi Saleh's Documentary "Living Skin"

Living Skin Wins in Luxor

07 Mar, 2012

After winning three awards, including the jury’s special ‘New Horizons’ prize at the 4th Abu Dhabi International Film Festival, AFAC ADFP 2009 grantee Fawzi Saleh’s documentary film "Living Skin" is receiving its fourth award at the first Luxor Film Festival for African Cinema.

The film sheds light on the lower worlds of Cairo city through documented stories of simple humanity and the harsh living circumstances of a group of working children whose profession exposes them to the most toxic elements of leather tanning in their heroic efforts to make a living.

It is also worth mentioning that director "Fawzi Saleh", who completed his documentary with the support of AFAC, is currently also an AFAC grantee for his first fiction feature film which bears the working title of "Poisoned Roses" and is based on the novel "Roses Toxic to a Falcon " by Egyptian author "Ahmed Zaghloul Caiti."
