World Premiere of charity single ‘Tomorrow-Bokra’

10 Nov, 2011

Legendary music producer Quincy Jones and Emirati social entrepreneur Badr Jafar launch their new project ‘Tomorrow – Bokra’ at the One&Only The Palm, Dubai on November 11, 2011.

This single is an Arab adaptation of Jones’ peace anthem “Tomorrow (A Better You, A Better Me)” featuring 24 Arab music celebrities from 16 Arab countries. Hosted by Global Gumbo Group, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the song will be performed live at the Palm, with simultaneous screening accessible worldwide on MBC, CNN, and Youtube-Google.

The music video of ‘Tomorrow-Bukra’ is directed by the Syrian – American Hollywood filmmaker Malek Akkad, who began recording earlier this year in Rabat, Morocco during the MAWAZINE Festival Rhythms of the World and later in Doha, Qatar. The recording brings together some of the biggest names in Arabic music, and the line-up of artists is an unprecedented summit of Arab talent on a scale never before seen.

All proceeds raised from the single will finance educational programs in music, arts & culture for children across the region, in association with a series of organizations including the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) and the United Nations World Food Program.
