Raqs is translated phonetically as "Dance" in Arabic. The RAqS initiative has been created to anchor the contemporary music scene of Bilad Al Shām culture, and thereby give it a dynamic and influential position in the European cultural sector. RAqS is a mediator and a driver in the field, connecting cultural institutions, artists and audiences from the Middle East and Europe, whereby the interaction between the parties involved leads to partnerships based on common interests.
