Exiled, the author arrives to America in his thirties. Through writing, he attempts to discover his body and his position in this new society, using prose that mixes between autobiography, investigative journalism, as well as socio-historical analysis. The book focuses on the bodies of immigrants in their lives and deaths, in addition to torture, issues of race and color, and perceptions of masculinity in the East and the West regarding the ideal body of a man.
